Every detail counts in cathodic protection. Tecnoseal designs and manufactures bespoke accessories to ensure effective and safe installation, optimising the performance of the anodes.
What they are
As well as manufacturing sacrificial anodes, Tecnoseal is also able to supply all the accessories required for installation.
This specific section is primarily dedicated to the following products:
- Mounting plates
- Recesses
- Gaskets
- lnsulator
Entirely designed and manufactured by Tecnoseal, the mounting plates are used to facilitate the installation of sacrificial anodes in accordance with the design specifications.
Machined aluminium mounting plates are essential for protecting aluminium hulls and, as they are made from the same material as the hull, they can be easily welded.
This accessory is made from the same material as the hull, but to ensure the best electrical conductivity, the threaded pins are made of steel.
In the case of steel or iron hulls or appendages, the mounting bases can be made from the same material as the structure to be protected, whilst always using steel threaded pins.
The accessories section also includes the recesses that Tecnoseal manufactures from machined aluminium, iron or steel.
The key feature of these recesses is that they are made from solid bar; consequently, as they contain no welded parts, they do not require any specific certification.
Each type of anode can be supplied with a suitable rubber gasket.
Rubber gaskets are supplied with the sacrificial anodes in cases where their use is deemed necessary during the design phase.
Their use depends essentially on the conditions surrounding the calculation of the anode mass, in particular the material from which the hull is made, the painting cycle used and the installation position of the anode.
Finally, in certain design contexts, where an anode is required to protect a specific metal component, insulators made from materials with high dielectric strength are manufactured.
This accessory is always custom-designed to meet the customer’s specific requirements.
These insulators are typically used to protect metal components fitted to carbon fibre hulls.
